Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 bag frozen tater tots

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and diced onion, cooking until the beef is browned and the onions are softened.
  3. Drain excess grease from the skillet. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Add the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream to the skillet. Stir until fully combined and creamy.
  5. Stir in half of the shredded cheddar cheese until melted into the beef mixture.
  6. Spread the beef mixture evenly into the prepared casserole dish.
  7. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the top of the casserole.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese evenly across the top.
  9. Bake uncovered for 35 to 40 minutes until the casserole bubbles and the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  10. Allow the casserole to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
